• Aminul Haque, CFA is the Head of Capital Markets of BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. He oversees the Research Department of the firm. Amin is an active equities analyst and covers Special Situation companies. Prior to joining BRAC EPL, Amin was Head of Research for Wolverton Capital Markets, a Calgary, Canada based mid-sized investment bank. He also worked for AIC Limited, one of the largest mutual funds companies in Canada, as a Senior Investment Analyst. His capital market experience includes working for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, DC and Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) in Newport Beach, California. Amin also worked as Director of Risk Management for MasterCard International in New York, and as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington, DC.

Amin completed his MBA from Georgetown University in Washington DC. During his graduate studies, he was a student-researcher at Georgetown University’s Capital Markets Research Center. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

• Md. Monirul Islam, ACA is a Research Analyst at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. Monirul joined the firm in October, 2009. As an analyst, Monirul covers banks, non-banking financial institutions and the insurance sector. Prior to joining BRAC EPL, Monirul was a Manager of Audit and Advisory services of KPMG-Bangladesh. Monirul has extensive experience in the banking sector through auditing and advisory engagements.

Monirul completed his MBA and BBA degrees, both with a concentration in Accounting and Information Systems (AIS), from the University of Dhaka. He holds the designation of Associates of Chartered Accountants (ACA). Monirul is a part time faculty member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).

• Parvez M Chowdhury is a Research Analyst at BRAC EPL Investments Limited. He joined the company in December 2007. As an analyst, Parvez covers Consumer goods (discretionary and staples) and Pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors. He supervises the daily and weekly capital market updates, maintains the firm’s proprietary database and constructs specialty indices.

Parvez completed his MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Dhaka. Parvez also has a background in Accounting and Economics as a business graduate. He is a Level I candidate of the CFA Program. He is an enrolled student of CMA at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).

• Ali Imam is an Investment Analyst at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. He joined the firm in January 2010. As an analyst, Imam covers various industry sectors from a wealth management perspective. Primarily he covers Fuel & Power, Telecommunications and other infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining BRAC EPL, Imam worked as a member of the Investment Banking team at Eastern Bank Ltd where he was responsible for generating investment ideas for a proprietary investment portfolio. Imam also has experience in the Credit Rating industry.

Imam completed his BBA with a major in Finance from the University of Dhaka. Currently he is pursuing the CFA charter (Level III candidate). He has a keen interest in value investment and wealth management solutions that can be applied in the local market.  

• Asif Khan is an Investment Analyst at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. Presently he is covering equities in the Asian frontier/emerging markets which include countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines etc. Being a ‘generalist’ he covers multiple sectors and industries. Apart from equity research, he is also involved in macroeconomic and top down analysis.

Asif graduated summa cum laude in BBA from the North South University.  He has a major in Finance & Accounting along with a second major in Economics. He is also a CFA Level II candidate for June 2010.

• Md. Ashfaque Alam is a Research Associate at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. He joined the firm in January 2010. Ashfaque is responsible for market news summary and industry briefs. He is also the secondary analyst for the financial services sector.

Ashfaque completed his Bachelors of Business administration (BBA) degree from the North South University. He had a major in Finance & Accounting along with a minor in Economics.

• Safwan Saad is a Research Associate at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. He joined the firm in February 2010. Safwan is responsible for preparing the daily market updates and weekly market review. He is also the primary contact for Bloomberg and Capital IQ. Safwan’s research interest is in textiles, ready-made garments and related industries. He also holds good knowledge about the Mutual Funds that are listed in the capital market.

Safwan completed Bachelors of Business administration (summa cum laude) from North South University. He had a major in Finance & Accounting along with a minor in Economics.
