Head of Research
Mr. Salim Afzal Shawon joined BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage in Jun 2021 as the Head of Research. With over a decade of extensive experience in his various roles among global and local companies, covering both public and private markets, Mr. Salim brings in a unique mix of research, transaction, and advisory capability to BESL. Prior to joining with BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Ltd, Mr. Salim served as Independent Partner, Structured Finance at Fillip Partners, a boutique investment & legal advisory firm of Bangladesh since October 2018 to May 2021. He also worked for International Finance Corporation (World Bank) as Investment Analyst, South Asia during July 2014 to July 2018 period. Before that, he was working in the capital market with IDLC Investments Limited as Assistant Manager, Research. He started his career with Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh (CRAB) as a Financial Analyst.
He received several global trainings from S&P, Moody’s, World Bank, Del Carnegie and many other reputed sources in a number of professional aspects, including financial modeling, accounting, credit analysis, strategy etc. Mr. Salim completed his MBA from University of Dhaka. He is also one of the few CFA charter holders in Bangladesh who completed all three levels of CFA exams at a stretch.

Fahim Hassan previously worked as Research Analyst at UniCap Securities Limited from December 02, 2018 till September 15, 2021. He has completed his B.B.A and M.B.A from Department of Finance, University of Dhaka in 2016 and 2018 respectively. He also passed his CFA Level 1 exam.
Research Analyst
Hossain Zaman Towhidi Khan joined BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage as a Senior Research Associate in August 2022 and currently working as Research Analyst. He has over three years of work experience in Egypt, covering MENA. Before joining BRAC EPL, he worked as an Equity Analyst in Prime Securities, Egypt. He completed his BBA from Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology. He passed CFA level 1 exam and completed Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®) certification from Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).
Research Analyst
Mr. Foysal Ahmed, CFA, joined BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Limited in September 2023 as a Financial Analyst, Research. He is a finance professional with diversified experience across equity research, macroeconomic and industry analysis, financial modeling, supply-chain-linked corporate finance, and electrical engineering, bringing a strong analytical and cross-functional perspective to sell-side research.
Prior to joining BRAC EPL, he accumulated over seven years of experience across electrical engineering, supply chain finance, procurement analytics, and operations within large industrial and multinational organizations. In these roles, he led working capital optimization, supplier evaluation, and CAPEX-linked financial analysis, strengthening his bottom-up, operationally informed research approach.
Mr. Foysal holds an MBA in Finance from North South University and a B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from East West University. He is a CFA Charterholder, having passed all three levels of the CFA Program on his first attempt.
Research Analyst
S M Toufique Imran joined BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage in November 2023 as a Research Associate. Prior to this role, he worked as an Equity Research Intern in the research team of BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage. In 2023, he completed his B.B.A from the School of Business & Economics at North South University, majoring in Finance & Economics. Additionally, he was recognized as one of the finalists in the CFA Research Challenge (2023).
Research Associate
Tasviha Taher Trishila joined BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage in March 2025 as a Research Associate. Previously, she worked as a Management Trainee at IPDC Finance Limited from July 2019 to August 2021. She completed her B.B.A from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka (2019) and Master of Social Science (MSS) in Economics from East West University (2021). In addition, she has obtained a Master of Quantitative Finance from University of Maryland, USA (2022).
